| Description | This quest is bestowed by Jaefan Druzin Zawabi's Refuge.
You need to head into the Sands of Menechtarun and enter The Burning City. Your goal is to free the slaves and bring back the Orb of the Efreet. This dungeon is populated by gnolls, hyenas, ogre, elementals and mephits. One thing to note here is that there are quite a few places where you will be attacked from high by archers. If you have AoE attacks that can destroy them (such as Cloudkill) then you can do so now. Otherwise you may be best suited to avoid them and get them when you reach that portion of the dungeon. As your heading down the mountain, free the slaves. You can ignore the locked doors on the way for now. When you kill all the gnolls at the bottom you will get a key. You can then go back to one of the locked doors and slay Unkor the Gourmet to save a Dwarf from being a meal. You'll get one key from the Ogre, and if you rescue the dwarf you get a second key to the treasure chamber. Continue fighting on, freeing slaves and killing gnolls as you go. Eventually you get a key from these. This will unlock the first locked door that you past. Be warned that there is a Fire Trap on this door. Its pointless to disarm it because the gnolls just re-arm it. Past this area is a rest shrine. This dungeon has a number of spike, fire and blade traps throughout it, so a rogue will come in handy. Deeper in you'll find an Overseer who drops another key which can be used to free the dwarves near him. Freeing 16 dwarves in this area results in a Royal Firebrand Key, which unlocks the final chamber. There will be another shrine on the way, and you'll likely need it. When you encounter the slave Erath the Blind, he will curse you, so be sure to have a caster or some potions to cure it. Four Ogre Magi will spawn. Slay them and speak to Erath again and he will open up the Treasure Chamber. Get your treasure. Head back to where the Ogre Magi were located and cross the bridge. This leads to the Royal Chamber, and requires the Royal Firebrand Key from freeing the dwarves. Slay the gnolls and elementals, and grab the Efreeti Orb to complete the quest. Turn the orb into Jaefan Druz and he'll give you an item that you can turn in to Zawabi. |
