The Raw and Manufactured Ingredients are pretty easy to acquire and create, but you see, crafting items in DDO does not rely solely on those types of ingredients. As such, you need to upgrade the ingredients you currently have. When you upgrade ingredients, it means you will have to find new sets of base of ingredients. It gets a little tougher to collect the new set of ingredients because they can only be found in chests in The Shroud. This means you have to run the raid over and over again if you want to get all the new ingredients. What's more, these ingredients can only used in specific altars. So, before you proceed, you have to know what mix of ingredients work in what type of altar.


The Thirteenth Eclipse raid starts in the Shroud, and it has 5 parts. There are 3 altars which are used for crafting. However, you need to finish a part before you can actually gain access to the altars.

Altar Of Invasion - Part 1
Altar of Subjugation - Part 3
Altar of Devastation - Part 5

To start upgrading ingredients, you need to collect the following components:

Small Glowing Arrowheads
Small Gnawed Bones
Small Length of Infernal Chain
Small Devil Scales
Small Twisted Shrapnel
Small Sulphurous Stone
Shavarath Low Energy Cell

Based on the above ingredients, you will be able to create what is known as Tier Two Ingredients, which are necessary to power up your Green Steel Blanks. This means that your base item or weapon will start to become useful because it will have magical power that can improve your stats, give you additional spell points, gives you protection, improves your resistance, and so on and so forth. Here is a list of recipe for the ingredient upgrade.

NOTE: CAN ONLY BE CREATED IN THE ALTAR OF INVASION

INGREDIENT = COMPONENT 1 + COMPONENT 2 + COMPONENT 3 + COMPONENT 4 + SHAVARATH LOW ENERGY CELL


Inferior Focus of Fire = Devil Scales + Gnawed Bones + Twisted Shrapnel + Glowing Arrowheads + Shavarath Low Energy cell

Inferior Focus of Air = Glowing Arrowhead + Twisted Shrapnel + Sulphurous Stone + Gnawed Bones + Shavarath Low Energy Cell

Inferior Focus of Positive Energy = Gnawed Bone + Sulphurous Stone + Glowing Arrowheads + Devil Scales + Shavarath Low Energy Cell

Inferior Focus of Water = Length of Infernal Chain + Gnawed Bone + Glowing Arrowheads + Devil Scales + Shavarath Low Energy Cell

Inferior Focus of Negative Energy = Length of Infernal Chain + Glowing Arrowheads + Twisted Shrapnel + Sulphurous Stone + Shavarath Low Energy Cell

Diluted Material Essence = Twisted Shrapnel + Glowing Arrowhead + Sulphurous Stone + Devil Scales + Shavarath Low Energy Cell

Diluted Ethereal Essence = Length of Infernal Chain + Glowing Arrowheads + Devil Scales + Sulphurous Stone + Shavarath Low Energy Cell

Cloudy Gem of Opposition = Length of Infernal Chain + Gnawed Bone + Devil Scales + Sulphurous Stone + Shavarath Low Energy Cell

Cloudy Gem of Domination = Length of Infernal Chain + Twisted Shrapnel + Devil Scales + Gnawed Bone + Shavarath Low Energy Cell

Cloudy Gem of Escalation = Length of Infernal Chain + Twisted Shrapnel + Devil Scales + Sulphurous Stone + Shavarath Low Enery Cell

Inferior Focus of Earth = Twisted Shrapnel + Glowing Arrowhead + Length of Infernal Chain + Gnawed Bone + Shavarath Low Enery Cell


If you combine the Tier 2 Ingredients with each other, it will create an IMBUED SHARD OF POWER. So, the procedure is:

IMBUED SHARD OF POWER = INFERIOR FOCUS + CLOUDED GEM + DILUTED ESSENCE

Hence,

IMBUED SHARD OF POWER + GREEN STEEL BLANK + POWER SOURCE = CRAFTED ITEM OR WEAPON

STEP BY STEP EXAMPLE

My Sorcerer is in need of an item that will increase her spell points even more. She has been running the Necropolis pre-raid just to get that awesome Wizardry VI ring, which can give Sorcerers as much as 300 extra spell points. With crafting, my sorcerer can create an item which will give her the same exact number of spell points. Since my sorcerer doesn't wear a helmet, I should create one for her.

STEP 1: Decide what base item or weapon you want to create. This is going to be the Green Steel Blank. Since I want to create a helmet, I will have to make a Green Steel Blank Helm.

STEP 2: After reading the crafting articles in Skryer.com, collect the raw ingredients that will help create a manufactured ingredients. A Green Steel Blank will require the following: Manufactured Ingredients + Signet Stone + Eberron Energy Cell


Filaments of Toil (Locust Husk + Lammanian Lily Petals + Glistening Pebbles + Green Briar Twig + Eberron Energy Cell)
Taper, Violet (Chipmunk Funk + Locust Husk + Lammanian Lily Petals + Glistening Pebbles + Eberron Energy Cell)
Wonderous Jewel (Bitterscrub Fungus + Chipmunk Funk + Locust Husk + Green Briar Twig (or Glistening Pebbles) + Eberron Energy Cell


STEP 3: Go to the Altar of Fecundity in Meridia and mix the manufactured ingredients to create the Green Steel Blank Helm

STEP 4: Do the Raid so you can collect the following ingredients:


Small Glowing Arrowheads
Small Gnawed Bones
Small Length of Infernal Chain
Small Devil Scales
Small Twisted Shrapnel
Small Sulphurous Stone
Shavarath Low Energy Cell

STEP 5: The Helmet should have Wizardry VI and + 1 Cha Skill. As such, the needed tier 2 ingredients will be Air, Escalation and Ethereal. Go to Altar of Invasion in Part 1 of The Shroud to create the upgrade ingredients.

Essence Ethereal = Glowing Arrowheads + Length of Infernal Chain + Devil Scales + Sulphurous Stone + Shavarath Low Energy Cell
Gem of Escalation = Length of Infernal Chain + Devil Scales + Twisted Shrapnels +Sulphurous Stone + Shavarath Low Energy Cell
Focus of Air = Glowing Arrowheads + Gnawed Bones + Twisted Shrapnel + Sulphurous Stone + Shavarath Low Energy Cell


STEP 6: Once you have the upgraded ingredients, combine it with the Green Steel Blank Helm and the Power Source at the Altar of Invasion (Part 1 of The Shroud Raid).


STEP 7: Congratulations! You are now the owner of a Green Steel Helm with Wizardry VI (150 spell points for Wizards and 300 spell points for Sorcerers) and +1 on all Charisma-based skills.


Note that this is just using Shavarath Low Energy Cell (Inferior Power). So, you can still forge better items using Shavarath Medium Energy Cell (Great Power) and Shavarath High Energy Cell (Supreme Power). However, there are still many unknown effects to various combinations of ingredients. But for now, you will be happy with what you have created. As you familiarized yourself with crafting, you will be able to upgrade your items and weapons even more. You just need to keep running the raid to find the needed ingredients.
